Three members of the elite Mouse Guard set out to find a missing merchant mouse who never arrived at his destination. What they find alerts them to the fact that someone is trying to destroy the Guard.
I rarely read comic books. I’ve probably only read three in my entire life. And I probably wouldn’t have read this one if it weren’t for the reading challenge I’m participating in.
And this one was good. Maybe not great, but certainly good. I enjoyed reading it. I wouldn’t read it again, but I will give the sequels a try.
The story kept me interested. It’s an adventure filled with both loyalty and treachery. The story keeps you guessing with a few twists and turns, but in some ways, the story felt fairly simple.
I did enjoy the art which is beautiful and striking, and I liked the medieval feel of the story. It feels like a noble adventure with chivalrous knights.
It was worth reading for these reasons and for the purpose of stretching my reading repertoire. I can’t explain why I thought it was just good and not great, but I think that some people will probably love it a lot more than I did.
I recommend this to:
- Comic book fans.
- People who aren’t comic book fans, but would still like to read one.
